Intermittent (or recreational) sun exposure is generally associated with the development of melanoma, whereas occupational exposure (meaning every day) actually has an inverse relationship with melanoma. All the more reason to soak it up as much as you can!

The point about melanoma rates increasing despite the increased awareness of avoiding sun exposure during peak times and using sunscreen was especially interesting. Did you find any evidence that the highest rates of melanoma are found in people with mainly recreational sun exposure (as opposed to more consistent sun exposure) ?
